I am curious why you want to go mechanical. I was just trying to go with
the electric versions.

I just bought a dual air pressure guage. It is a single guage with two
needles (1-green 1-red) and designed for the airbags.

It came with a complete kit with lines to go up to 25 feet. Great looking
and will fit right next to my switches (78 side mount).

Got it for about $120 (+/-) at Alex Sirums.

Might have gotten it cheaper, but then I would have to search out all the
connectors and parts. Seemed like a fair deal to me.

Hi Fred

My Stewart Warner catalog shows a number of 0-150 psi electric air gauges.

They also have a number of mechanical gauges.

One thing to consider is that the electric gauge swings the needle through
only 90 degrees while the mechanical gauge swings the needle through 270
degrees giving a much longer scale.

Both type are available in 2 1/16 inch sizes.

Stewart Warner also shows different sender units for different pressure
gauges. Could it be you have a 0-100 psi sender that is over-ranging and
sticking? All sending units are 240 ohms at 0 PSI and 33.5 ohms at maximum
pressure so I would expect the actual meter to be the the same except for
the markings.

Mac and Shirley McNeil (Custom Instrument Panels) can also get you a dual
needle air pressure gauge. They have new style gauges that can also be back
mounted with nothing more than the face of the gauge showing. Caspro also
shows a gauge in their catalog.

Is the gauge electrical or mechanical? Does it go as high as 150 psi? If so,
I will stay with electrical (vs. mechanical) as I have the wiring already in
place. Also, is the diameter of the gauge 2 1/16 inches? That is the size of
the opening for my current gauges, also mounted next to the suspension
controls.

110.

You say "senders will "stick". What senders are you talking about??
Usually the air pressure gauge is plumbed right to the air line with a "T"
and the gauge reads direct. Do you have something different??

Gene:

You say "I did not think my pressure got that high". If you are going down
the road, you'll find that the air pressure gauge reading will oscillate up
and down depending on the smoothness of the paving.

Although I don't recall the numbers, I believe Leigh Harrison told me that
in his testing found that the maximum dynamic pressures he found were
something like 50 psi greater than the value at rest. On the other hand,
those findings pertain to his four air bag system.
