Air/Fuel Ratio

Hello All,

Is anyone out there running an A/F Gauge and if so what reading are you getting?

1: At cruise between 60 and 70 MPH.

2: At under part load.

3: At full load but no secondaries kicked in.

Also what are the alignment specs on Manny's 1 ton front end.

I have one but I don't trust it yet. When it's acting correctly it stays around 14.5 - 15

Mine is also about 14-15 but I think it's still too lean. I think at the power levels we run it should be 13-14

It is more about load. Hard pulls require more fuel.
Reminds me of the story of 2 farmers in times past. Farmer #1 said
that he had been giving his mule less hay and oats on successive days to
save money. Just about the time he had the mule weaned off of the oats, it
up and died.
Same goes for engines, go ahead and lean 'em out, then look at jon's
pictures again. Fuel cools the combustion. Hard pulls require 11:0 to 1 or
so. You are flirting with disaster at 15.0 to 1. Ask me how I know. Got the
melted and busted parts to prove it.

Around 12:1 at full throttle and/or high load

We are tuned and fuel trimmed for 16.2 afr at cruise. 12.5 for power. smoothest idle 13.2. Been operating fine for a few years. No real gain in
mileage even though there should be.
