Air conditioning question

In my recent shopping spree at the local dump, I picked up an Acme
(recommended highly by the Coyote) airconditioner/heater fan coil from
the back of a conversion van for $25.00. The unit is perfect to fit
under my front couch and will tie in to the ducting of the furnace to
cool/heat the rear of the coach while under way. (I put in a switch to
use the existing furnace thermostat for the heat so that both wont run
at the same time).

The hoses on the unit had to be cut at the floor when I removed it. The
only thing lower than a GMC with blown airbags and flat tires is a van
with no wheels sitting in mud. I planned to cut the hose off the donor
vehicle but thought better of it. The best I can determine is that the
heater hose is standard fare.

The airconditioning hose is 1/4" and 1/2" stuff. Pretty heavy duty. I
cant read the pressure rating, it is either 350 psi or 1350 psi. Does
any one know what it is and where to get it? It does say Dayco on it.

Will I have to get an A/C company to install it? Will the existing A/C
compressor be able to handle it?

Appreciate any help.

Ron I got a similar A/C heater unit @ my local
wrecking yard and I got all the hoses. There is no psi
on them but the numbers on them are as
follows.5/16-EHR-3990E-1214-M the large hose is 1/2 ID
EHR-3990E-1 BR 1514-M. I don't know what these numbers
mean, maybe someone with A/C knowledge can help.
The unit I got has a 3 speed fan. Is yours like this,
if so how are you going to utilize all 3 speeds?

I am going to get a SP3T rotary switch and put it on bulkhead next to
the door. I will be able to use all three speeds this way. The heater
hookup will also go through the water heater to act as a preheater.Tony
Bad had some good ideas on how to do this. I will try to lay out a
schematic.

I have some schematics of the heater system and the blower system electrical.
I can email if anyone is interested since Majordomo doesnt handle
attachments. I could use some advice on whether they will work before I hook
them up.

Thanks
