Question for you folks....that little Dana air compressor for the rear suspension system, how much pressure does it develop?

Im trying to figure out what crack pressure, for the one way valve is needed and how much air should be in the rear suspension....the note i have says
between 100 and 120psi but i just cant see that little guy doing that.

Thanks for filling the sigfile.

Isolators are not expensive, look at marine stores and Ebay. You want a 100 amp or greater. The standard alternator can actually do 96 (I measured)
given the correct conditions. You can plug one in now and add a combiner later if you choose.

The answer to your current question is..... About 150 psi .... That is what mine would do just after a complete overhaul. I suspect it was that good
for at least a few days. How much pressure is needed depends on the weight in the rear. That includes potable, waste tanks, fuel and what ever else
you have loaded back there.

Now that I have a name, I can properly welcome you. This is an very different group of wonderful and supportive people. It is more than just a
collection of people that have similar coaches. That is what the GMC Assist list is all about. That is just the beginning. The only other group
that I know that is like this is that of the watermen that are my world and for that reason, I like to share a common greeting that I paraphrase here.

Mine gives about 135 psi.

John Clement used to have a rebuilding clinic at GMCMI conventions and he had a setup to test the Dana compressors which would show how long it would take to pump up and the maximum pressure it would reach.
He would clean the notes with scotch brite pads.

I polished the bores with very fine wet or dry paper.
Mine was tested and was much faster and achieved more pressure. So, the smoother the bore the better the pressure. That was years back but it’s still giving very good pressure.

I should have said that I have the upper pressure set at 135 for the shutoff switch. It will go quite a bit higher but I didn’t want to stress the airbags.

I rebuilt mine about 15 years ago at one of John's clinics. Installed it and forgot about it after that. I set my high pressure limit to 128 PSI and
fixed a couple of air fitting leaks. I have not worried about it or done anything to the air suspension since. It next to never is neededyor runs
except to changing road or weight conditions like at refuel stops. On heavy cross winds or changing taper roads it will kick on to make up for the
varying load on the bags.

I have spare compressor new in the box somewhere in the coach but never needed it. I do not to even remember ht brand it is. Air suspension
operating at OEM conditions, never needs any maintenance except to drain the accumulated water in the added drier filter maybe one a year.

The story goes like this actually.....coach was fully aired up (i suspect max) all the way home with no leaks (picked it up like that, not my
settings)....once home i hit the "lower" right switch and the right side hit the dirt then i flipped the switch to air it up, compressor comes on but
nothing really happens so being the mechanic i am i start tearing into it......one way valve into tank leaking, compressor output seems weak as
well....notice gauge installed doesnt show more than 20psi so out it comes (its baffed to). Guess i know the solenoid valves and switches work as it
held air and dumped air....hahaha....oh the games one plays to get a darling back healthy....lol.

Yes thank you for the info...been reading up on it, along with some tech bulletins and some club news letter info, as at on point this vehicle owner
was a GMCMI member
