Placed my order for new airbags this morning, Craig

Scott, You're SCARING ME...! I also ordered -- via a credit card.
If you used a credit card and these guys have MISREPRESENTED the quantity,
get ahold of the card company and STOP PAYMENT until it gets sorted out!

I FAXED in my order to these guys with clear, unambiguous wording in the
order and a total order price shown. Will call Craig this afternoon to
advise him that if order has been filled on ANY OTHER BASIS than the
instructions in my fax, the stuff is coming back and the card company will
be instructed to NOT honor their charge.
Years ago, worked for a firm up there (the old American Monorail Co out on
E.200th St.) and first encountered what they called "AVO"s. When I asked
the crusty old engineer who was mentoring me (actually, "abusing" would have
been more accurate) what it meant, he told me "Avoid Verbal Orders -- and
don't ever forget that."
Never did.
Sorry you got hung with the deal.

Scott, Called Craig and had long conversation with him. Said he'll issue
return goods authorizations to anyone who wants out of the deal at the
previous misunderstood pricing level.
Sounds like the poor guy got stiffed by Firestone. Been stiffred by
Firestone myself a few times, so no surprises there. Also told him that IF
Firestone has Arrow on a Net 30 invoicing for these things (they do), he MAY
have some leverage by virtue of all the single bags he'll have in his stock.
He MAY be able to get Firestone to cut him enough slack to let him get his
price to us to the level of the Gateways and/or Cinnabars/etc. If that
happens, I may hang in there with him for another hundred bucks or so.
But I sure as hell ain't gonna go 600 something. That AIN'T competitive!

This air bag things really irks me. I wouldn't have said anything if
Craig had called me and said that there was an error and the price was
for one bag. I would have then cancel led the order. But to go ahead
and ship one bag and charge my credit card when the agreement was for 2
bags is interstate credit card fraud.
How many of you did get 2 bags shipped to you?

Nobody received 2 bags. You are a 100% right he should not have shipped
any. If I am unable to straighten out this problem with Craig I will
dispute the charge on my card and return the bag COD.

I was going to buy air bags but at the last minute found that I already had
a new set that I had forgot. the last set that I bought from Cinnabar was
$249 each so cannot understand how a quantity purchase could have been for
$324 for one. The "set" of two each air bags for $324. should be a very
doable thing.

Gang, Just opened the box from Arrow (actually UPS PRE opened it for me --
perhaps some of their folks searching for handguns) and found TWO -- count
'em -- TWO air bags and a VISA slip for $649 and change. Will officially
dispute charge with VISA, stopping payment until we get this sorted out.
Why the hell can't folks just FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS?? It's clear old Craig
either didn't READ my FAX or engaged in a conscious effort to pull a quick
one.
Tom, as this unfolds please keep us posted on any progress toward getting
the number for two bags a hell of a lot closet to 400 bucks. If not
resolved thusly, these suckers are goin' back.

Daren,

4503 with cones

4502 is the air bag with no cones.

Both are hard to find anywhere except from a specialty house. There is
very little profit in them and very little call so most dealers will not
stock them.

The only way not to be held captive by such a hard to locate unit is to
retrofit to the 4 air bag system, then your air bags can be found at most
any Camping World. I think you know how I feel about the 4 air bag set up,
this is another reason why I recommend it!

I usually tell customers to call Gateway or Alex Sirum if you need to buy
them.

Call me tomorrow if you need more input, its free Friday!!

See ya,

Jim Bounds

Dick,

The complete kit from Leigh is about $1100 as I recall (maybe a bit less).
Installation is simple (I cheated and had J. Bounds do it while I was in
Orlando). I'd guess that you could do a retrofit in half a day or so.

I haven't costed out what it actually costs Leigh to do the kit, but I'm
satisfied that he is fair. The brackets do take some skillful welding.

Henry/Chuck, Thanks for the input. I THOUGHT I saw some shots of the two
bag system on one of the GMC web sites (Henry's or Heinz's) but couldn't
locate them. Can someone direct me to them?
SNOW! Whooaa. Guess I'd better hustle getting the cover on this pool.

up to 4 and the next side is done in two. (learning curve is steep)

Day four of waiting for UPS to show up & take my "set" of airbags back.
They came, they left a box, they did not pick up. Looks like I better
give Craig a call. (And my credit card company.)
Anyone else having the same problem?

No big brown truck here either. Because I had a funny feeling about these
guys, I went ahead and sent the dispute letter to Visa. Might be a cheap
piece of insurance...
