I haven't gotten really into this project yet.

That makes this posting an unsubstantiated source of supply. Perhaps
someone would like to call and see what they have available at what price.

I priced air bags (standard 2 bag system) in 1993 from:

Joplin Trailer, Inc
2430 Davis BLVD
Joplin, MO 64804

417-782-2702

They had Firestone part numbers 4502 for the bag, 4503 for the cones and
bags. I was quoted $350 for a pair with cones.

I won't have time to chase this down, so I'm throwing this out 'raw'.

Just a point of view.....I sure hope this price is wrong. Or at least double
that amount. It would be just perfect if that was the price. A day late and
$350. Short. Darren

Gang, Getting ready to spring for new air bags. Does Gateway have the best
deal at $199 each? Can someone tell me about when new "cones" would be
warranted? Mine look OK in terms of external corrosion (very little).
Thanks
Dick

Just received my new firestone air bags with cones from Gateway. Not cheap
but what are we going to do. anyone trying to make them? they do have
metal cones and thought everyone would like to know how to identify them.

Firestone air bags says: Air ride (molded into the rubber)
(following is written in some kind of pen) 4132
12-698
2T2B
#16

tag attached to it says: FSN W01-358-4503
Firestone Industrial Products Co.
Nobelsville, In 46060
1-800-888-0650

Aluminum cone says: One end cone: NAD-15892
9792
2T2B-15

Other end cone: NAD-15894
9791
2T2B-15

cone is of very thin metal with 6 reinborcing webbs from the inner part
where the bag nut foes thru to the outside surface of the cone. One cannot
mistake them.

This leads me to believe that every bag is numbered and recorded and also
the individual cones.

I am still interested in finding out if my presently installed cones are
metal and will find out when I take them off soon.

Tom --

That's enough info that I'll renew my efforts to see what the plant manager
has to say. Perhaps they have a new one by now.... and maybe he's better
than the last one. I'll stop by on my next trip to Indy.

Maybe if I tell them its for some lab tables, they'll sell them to me :-)

Total Cost for the 2 bags and cones was $510.80 to include $498 for bags and
cones and $12.80 for shipping.
