Coil springs are a terrible idea.
Work well ,or failed ? Which ,nice photoSomeone tried that years ago and I believe it didn't work well.

Nice! It's always a good idea to try searching first. With half a million posts, just about anything you can imagine has been discussed before.So my recall wasn't exact. Here is a thread from 2012. If you scroll down you will find Bill Wevers took his springs off and went back to airbags. I didn't read through all of the postings...
