Adjusto Oil gauge

I have sent out a couple of feelers on this subject but to date no
resposes. I have an ADJUSTO brand oil level that replaces the dip stick on
my 75 GB. Does anyone know the perticulars on these units?
Mine has an oil line to it and a knob you pull as the engine is running.
It has a green inner and red outer ring. I assume the green means OK and the
red means add oil. I did my first oil change last weekend on both the engine
and the Onan. Added 5 quarts to the engine. Tested the Adjusto. RED ring
came out fast. Added 6 quarts. Red ring came out slowly. Added 6 1/2 quarts
red ring very slowly came out. Added 7 quarts and red ring won't come out at
all. Hmmm...
I would like to know how to adjust this critter. I don't like not having a
dipstick and I sure as heck don't want to blow any seals. Any info would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the info... yup, mine is just like what you discribed. Glad you
filled in the dark empty hole (black holes, as I like to refer to them) of
information I was missing!

Not sure of the brand but by the way describe it it's probably same as I
used to have as both tranny and oil dipstick replacements.
