Joe ; I added an aux unit to my 73 23' dash air and mounted it in the
dinette. Froze anyone sitting there. Finally remounted it under the
dash.where it was in the way. The PO had installed a roof skylight and I
tried various outside air options coming in there. If you find a roof
mounted 'truck' condenser fan distribution unit that would go overhead,
please let me know. I would mount a unit there IN A HEARTBEAT. Puts the cold
where it can be most useful.

I have an old 110 roof top unit that the compressor went south on.

I plan to try and gut it and use just the evaporator and replace the 110V fan
motor with a 12V unit. Y off the hoses from the A6 compressor and run them up
the inside between the front side glass and the side glass on the right side. Maybe
cut down the shroud-will have to see once I get into it.

Has anyone tried this before?

Regards,
Bob

Dean,
If your serious about the roof unit for the front area, stop in and I will
show you one from a Manufacture.

If you can find one in a men's mall, early 60s flatfront Econolines had a roof mount with fan/ Looked good and worked well. Had one in a '66 service
truck.
