AC/Delco Ignition Module part number

The module for the HEI ignition distributor was AC/Delco part number
875990 and GM part number 1875990 but this has recently changed to
AC/Delco #D1906 and GM part number 10482820.

The list at a GM dealer is about $41.58. I bought one today for
$35.34 as my local dealer gives me a discount. I asked him what he
would sell 10 or more for and he said about $2 or 3 less. I could do
a group buy for those of you who want one but I'm not sure whether it
would be worth it as you'd have to pay postage and insurance.

Well, I don't really know. There are definitely some differences in
the parts. For example when hooking up my Caspro EKE, I had to add a
diode to the CarQuest module that I had in my distributor in order to
get the EKE to work. With the Delco one I didn't have to.

Since it has been posted by a few on the net that the AC/Delco one
was better, I decided to just pay the higher price and put in the
Delco. I want to eliminate as much potention problems as I can in
order to get my vapor lock problem pinpointed and corrected.

By the way, the AC/Delco one was stamped "Made in the Phillipines" on the back.

Tom - I had just sent a reply to Larry Nelson about the coil and a
potential problem if its not a match to the pickup coil. Check that
out with your new coil.
