Got a weekend away with the coach. Just me this time. No wife, no kids and no real plans other than to escape to nature and relax.
PA is a very backward state in many ways, but it does have well maintained parks with excellent camping accommodations. Almost all spaces now have 30 or 50 amp hookup. Some even have full hookup. Price is about $35 a night for the weekend. Bathhouses are very clean and in many cases new (they are all being renovated). There are plenty of trails, usually a place to swim (lake, streams, or sometimes pools for a small fee), and the campers are usually friendly and family oriented. I have never had a problem with noise, partying, foul language, etc….
If you’re ever traveling through PA, consider the parks as an alternative to the parking lots (commercial campgrounds).
