Heinz:

On my way to Oshkosh last year this time, same thing happened to me. The
owl broke into and lodged in the bottom section of the grill. 25 miles
later, after I got off the highway, it flew away as I approached a stop
sign.

Frank Jenkins in FL makes and sells fiberglass grills. However, after I
evaluated his brochure, I elected to obtain another original style from
Cinnabar. I felt it looked the best for the coach.

And bagged, or rather "grilled" a rather large bird.... the guess being an
owl.

Seen 'em many a time sitting on the fencepost. Cheech, you'd think he
could've sat there until I got by.

I'll be looking for a new grill... anyone have any leads. Seem to recall
some "newer style" grills are available?

guess my next trip will be a JB-welded one :-)

No other damage to the GMC. The driver, slight adrenalin rush but everything
stayed it's original color.

We all know that every dark cloud has a silver lining... a foot higher and
the silver lining would've been a little harder to find.

Oh well.... breaky done, time to mosey on. Next stop CW.

Medford, Or. - northbound.

Gene, looked for the camera but didn't see it :-) maybe next time.

BTW, "the" grade was a piece of cake. Still got down to 38 but only for a
minute or so. rest was "power in reserve", in second of course but I had
pedal/power left at 47-48. Hit my self imposed limit of3200 rpm a few times
when I wasn't looking (that 50 in second), but Kate reminded me.

Looks like it's going to be another great day. 60 degrees and not a cloud in
the sky.
