GMCnetters,

I just purchased an A&E 18ft awning from Camping World for my 26ft '76
Glenbrook and welcome advice from the GMCnet before drilling holes in my
"virgin" lady. As I see it, the bottom rear bracket comes too close to
the propane compartment door for comfort. If one drills mounting holes
at the left of the compartment at floor level can I expect to anchor
into something solid with both screws (bolts if I can gain access to the
inside)?

Next question, (and I can probably answer it for myself after drilling
the first hole in the roof for the awning channel): What length rivets
do I need to penetrate the skin and any ribs I might encounter?

I have seen many coaches at different rallys with the A&E, so I figure
other do-it-your-selfers have been through this and have 100% hindsight
on the do's and don'ts.

Thanks in advance,
Norm in Studley, VA
'76 Glenbrook

I didn't ever get the original message of this thread but went out and took
some shots of my A & E Awning installation. I put em in my misc odds n
ends page at my site.

They're at:

http://www.web-access.net/~bmassey/oddsnends.html

if anybody needs em.
