78 Sliding Side Window Rubber

Hello folks. Slider window problem. Some scurrilous knaves broke one large slider and one small slider on the driver side in a burglary. Windows are
replaced and I decided it was a good time for this 78 Eleganza to get new window rubber and tint. Windows work great when all put together until the
molding is added. Same with the undamaged windows; they slide fine until the new molding (Golby) is added then they become extremely hard/impossible
to slide. Have tried silicone spray with very little improvement. Tint has been cut back where the window contacts the track. Any ideas or advice?

I cannot help you with your window issue, but there is a real good bet that someone will come along that can.

What I would like you to do, so we can better assist you, is for you to fill in a sigfile. You do this by going up to . Then scroll down to and you will find a Signature box. In that box please, put in a real name because we really like to
know who we are helping and when you meet others from this group, they will feel less stupid when they see the name tag. Then a short about the coach
because they are not all the same and please include any major mods as they can matter. Finally, a geographic reference is a help because showing up
here means that you just now collected a huge number of old friends that you need to meet and some may be in striking range and can be very helpful
when you are trying to sort out issues.

Now, be aware that this is a very different community that may be a little off-putting until you realize that it is real. This is a community of
supportive and helping people that there are very few of in the world today. Everybody here has a not-so-secret agenda. That is to see to it that
you get to enjoy both the coach itself and what it can do for you as well as the community that it connects you to. The only other community like
this that I know of is that of the watermen that are my world. For that reason, I have taken to welcome new owners here much as you might be welcomed
there. So,

Thank you folks. Today out of curiosity I checked the old vs new molding for profile; Almost the same, likely close enough but what was surprising is
the old rubber is more flexible than the new stuff! The lip that contacts the window is ever so slightly thicker and more rigid and I imagine this is
the source of the problem.

paste works best spray good.

Jim Bounds suggests for best results to install the rubbers on a hot day.
As the sun heats up the rubber it softens and is more pliable.
As for me I use a heat gun and heat up a two foot section at a time being
careful as not to stretch the rubber.
