NEWb looking to buy this. It's in pretty decent condition for the age, and has been driven regularly (BIG plus)
The piece of the puzzle that I'm worried about is the lower dash piece of plastic trim pictured.
Is it made of Un-obtanium?
Thanks for this great family of enthusiasts.

Easy peasy. @Mike S. does great repro fiberglass work and sells through Sirum GMC in Florida. He has a page on FB called GMC Motorhome Fiberglass.

Nweb,
Put of what I have a problem with here is that the dash structure varies a lot from year to year and I can't figure out which yours is.
The plastic that these were made from ages very badly in some climates.
Matt

GeeEmSee, I think that the missing piece is part of the lower dash support. As Christo suggests they are available as a fibreglass repro. I just received mine and am readying to install it. Note that this piece comes in a full dash kit and a lot needs to come out to replace it. I have attached a pic that hopefully shows what you are missing.

There were three major dash changes during the 1973 - 1978 GMC MH build.
1973 to ~ TZE 0001 to ~1000 glove box redesigned (from "bin" type to simpler "door"
1973 late - 1976 end of model year. 1976 model year had auxiliary vent added.
1977 - 1978 vents & ash tray locations changed (as shown in photo)
