I'll be happy to send the class an email so that they can place a pin on their
map in the Denver area.

I vacationed on Prince Edward Island last fall and would like to explore more of
the beautiful Maritime Provinces.

Interesting................

My email to the class was just bounced. Message was that their server is
blocking du to overwhelming hits.

Richard

I just sent an email to this group and the address is blocked due to
overloading the system. Save it.

If anyone wanted to cause a problem... that was a classic primer on how
to really clog things up for someone's email-account...POP Server...ISP.
I fell for it...Wonder how long that will stay clogged? I mean, I know
it was not just us...

I noticed this morning that the school's ISP domain "glinx.com" has been
placed on the 'black hole list' (not the GMC support black list) as a yellow
alert potential SPAM e-mail address collector.

The admins at the black hole list are a zealous lot, so it may be just a
case of precaution. Smaller and mid-sized ISP's use the BHL to reduce the
effects of spam.

In any event, I hope this *is* just a class project, not some unscrupulous
spammer's attempt to harvest e-mail addresses. I forwarded an inquiry to the
ISP, and also advised them that messages were being blocked. I'll let you
know if I hear anything from the ISP.

Mark

PS - SPAM is the slang term for unsolicited commercial e-mail, usually
advertising pornographic web sites.

Well they didn't get my email either. This is what I got a few minutes ago:

Reporting-MTA: dns; uhura.concentric.net

Final-Recipient: rfc822; millcove
Action: failed

Remote-MTA: dns; mx3.glinx.com
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 ... Due to an overwhelming

Be weary of chain mail that asks for a reply. This is one of the ways
spammers collect "live" e-mail addresses. A known live address is a
valuable commodity in the world of spam. It is usually sold to other spammers.

The main reason I am skeptical about this message is the address is a
commercial site. Most school addresses end in ".edu"
