455 vs 403

Is the 455 a better engine for heavy-load conditions, such as would be
encountered in the mountains pulling a towed vehicle, as compared to the
403 engine?

Like the old saying goes, there's no substitute for cubic inches. It's
also hard to top the long stroke of the 455 for torque.

Yeah, but under 3000 rpm, there ain't much advantage to the 455.

I always believed all being equal, You put up with more oil usage, But you
get better power and fuel mileage out of the bigger engine because of using
less gas peddle, Atleast thats how it seems to me. But couldn't be too much
between the 403/455. But alittle bit helps at times.
