We were at Buskirk last November to look at their 502 swap. The folks
there couldn't have been nicer. After looking at their swap I decided
this was more than I wanted to do. Things that were needed are, motor to
trans plate, motor mounts,
exhaust, axle support, oil pan, starter mounting, diff support and oil
filter location. Don't get me wrong, this swap could be performed at
home by any good hotrodder. The work and planning that was done at
Buskirk for this swap was fantastic. The Big Block Chevy engine would be
a great motor for our GMCs but it is not a simple swap. The best way to
accomplish this swap would take your GMC and Dave's credit card to
Buskirk and let them do the job.
