Am looking for an olds 455 motor in upstate NY area or close, that I can
rebuild this fall for installation into my 76 palm beach this winter. Would
prefer a 68-70 olds F,F0,F00,F1,F2 block with steel crank, and 70-76 heads
K,J,G, or C. Will buy the heads separately if anyone has a set.

Found a 76 Toro engine today but the parts yard wants $500 for it and no
guarantee as to rebuildability of the block and heads. To much?

Anyone got one or more and the cost?

I have rebuilt them before and want to build a super reliable one, fuel
injection, forged pistons, high volume oil pump, ported heads and everything
else to make it bulletproof. A buld buy on parts would make it cheaper for
everyone.

Would be willling to write up the specs to have others built at the same
time if anyone is interested.

I have already toured the machine shop that will do the work and they are
top of the line. The shop is very clean, modern with a new dynomometer to
fully test and spec the engine. I will have them blue printed, magnafluxed,,
pressure tested, and everything else to do the job right.

Am looking for an olds 455 motor

I want to do the same eventually. I'm in Florida, so even if I could
locate a cheaper 455 block, etc. for You, it may not be economically
feasable to ship it to N.Y.
Have You ever considered an Eldorado 500 c.i.d.? Would it fit into the
space available? What are Pros & Cons if it is actually possible? I do
have a '75 500 located.

500 cad is a direct replacement and will fit perfectly. Many GMCers have
used it.
