If you are running a points type distributor and find that the points need to be polished every season, it is possible that either the condenser is
failing or is the wrong one for the application. A bad condenser will create lots of corrosion issues on the points and consequently poor starting,
missing and a bunch of other issues. Take that old system and convert it over to a pointless Petronix system. No moving parts, nothing to corrode.
Once the timing is set, unlike points, the timing will never change. And accept for the centrifugal force weights, no need to touch it for the rest of
your life. Change it now and get on with the rest of your GMC life. JWIT
