Life is too short to hold a grudge; slash some tires and call it even !
 
It's way easier in the airplane - it's running at constant RPM and constant load. You're going to lose ~~ an inch of MAP per thousand feet of
altitude, the mixture needs to lean to make up for this anyway. Rule of thumb is 50 degrees below max EGT. The auto engine sees constant changes in
speed and load, and thus wants a computer to keep up with what's going on in a near instantaneous manner to keep from breaking something. I've seen
the result of rejected landings where the pilot didn't do the GUMPP check and cobbed the engine and climbed out with the mixture set for cruise some
several thousand feet up. It breaks things.

Wow Mike,

That is an easy one.
As the forum is a adjunct to the original mailing list, there are some issues. One of them is that if an e-mail user does not reply directly, then
the code package assumes it is a new topic, and it is posted as such. Some people do read this as email, and if they have a properly configured mail
client, it will put all of the identical topics in the same thread. When I go back to read this all in the digest that I use, they will all be
grouped together. The problem is that they will be sorted by time, so if a reply does not quote the message it is replying to, there may be no chance
to effectively interpret that response. This is why I run both.

Broken, non standards compliant email clients. JWZ has some nice rants on
the subject, he was the lead for the Netscape mail and news clients
versions 1-3 here he is on threading https://www.jwz.org/doc/threading.html
which is where our problem lies.

A comment was made about. It's were you drive. This is extremely true. Ra=
ndy Van Winkle, myself, and many others live here on the great plains of t=
he Midwest. There are areas that the only way to build an on ramp for an ov=
er pass. Is dig a BIG hole to make the ramp. A high point on the far hori=
zon are from two ground hogs digging holes too close to each other. Thus c=
hanging the states topography maps. Randy explained this lean burn concept =
to me in more detail then I could clearly comprehend. Randy had also pro=
gramed my engine control module ECM for my EFI system sometime back. Randy =
REALLY knows this stuff. Put the EFI in. Ran great on the 538 mile trip he=
re to the GMCMI event. Plus he said that he could fine tune it closer to m=
y engines needs. As the cam had a different profile then the stock engine t=
he system was first bought for. And that he did this morning. Went a few bl=
ocks to I80. Ran even smooth with great throttle response, and performance=
. With it's self learning part completed. Need the EBL next. Thanks Randy=

No doubt about it. Randy knows the Howell EBL system as well as or better
than Rob R. when it comes to Oldsmobile engines in motor homes.

As I mentioned above we average 8.9 MPG. I religiously keep tract of our mileage to make sure everything is OK. Two years ago our mileage dropped to
6.5 and engine performance was terrible, so I knew something was up. After LOTS of searching I found a vacuum hose in front of the carb that was
split on the bottom side. I replaced it and the performance and MPG was all back to normal. Just passing on info.
