30 amp vs 50 amp

Took the 76 Palm Beach out for the first time since purchasing it last year! Had to plug into a 30 amp service since the campground did not have a 50
amp service available. House battery was at a full charge and by morning the battery was dead. My question, should the 30 amp service supplied enough
amperage for the converter to keep the house battery with a charge?
Also, my refrigerator is ac/dc. It also ran until house battery was drained. Isn't the frig supposed to automatically switch to ac when service is
provided?

You should be able to run 30amp with no problem.
Possible the 30amp to 50amp adapter, or connection, not giving power to both sides of the 50 amp

If your refrigerator is ac /dc not ac dc propane it likely drained the batteries overnight running on dc because your Ac pedestal wasn’t suppling
30 amp power as suggested you may have a problem with your adaptor a circuit breaker Turned off to name a few .You should always make sure the ac
power is coming into the coach when you plug in.

Very possibly the converter did you verify you had 120 volts in the coach by turning on an ac unit or other appliance. If you did have power in the
coach make sure there is 120 volts where the converter plugs in. If there is power there check to see if you have around 14 volts at the converter
output if not you likely have a bad converter or a bad converter fuse if there is one. The converter should also have a circuit breaker in the breaker
panel

If none of the 12V fuses are blown take your trusty multimeter and measure the input to the 12V supply. If it's good, measure the output. If it's
good, measure the other end of the output at the 12V fuse block. If it's good find and correct the missing ground. This should be a fairly simple
but time consuming fix.

What you did should have worked. There was a failure somewhere. When you hook up to shore power and particularly so when using any adapter for
anything, is check to see that you got what you expected to get.

The GMC power panel has two sides, know what is on each. I my case the microwave is on one side and the A/C is on the other. So, when I get plugged
in, I check that there are the little red numbers on the microwave? Does the fan on the A/C run? We must be good.

You seem to have missed the 10 to 1 conversion rate for the converter. 1Amp of AC makes 10Amps of DC. So, a 30Amp converter needs just a little more
than 3Amps of AC to do everything it can.

I have all receptacles. Air Cond fan does turn on, but I was too scared to leave on long enough to see if compressor would kick on.

The converter seems to be running (can feel a slight vibration coming from it) But it is not charging my house battery.

The TT-30P to 14-50R dongle adaptor is a bit of odd kit. You should understand how it is wired so you can test it and have an understanding for future
use. There are three prongs on one end and 4 receptacles on the other. The Ground is wired one for one. The neutral is wired one for one. The hot on
the TT-30 end is paralleled to both hots on the 14-40R. You can confirm this easily and safety on the bench by using the low Ohms with tone function
selected on your meter.

If you can feel or hear the converter and you measure less then 13 volts dc where the converter connects to the dc buss you need to replace the
converter.

If you still have the original dumb converter now is the time to replace it with a new progressive smart converter

That should work ok but the pd9245 should be all you should need. I put a +40 in mine many many years ago It was a 40 amp smart charger it had no
problem keeping my 2 golf cart batteries and start battery up to snuff
