3.55 or 3.70 Final Drive Gear?

Jims 3.70 can be a bit whiny at first but it definitly quiets down. a couple thousand miles and I don't hear mine anymore

I tow a Honda CRV and feel the 3.70 is a good addition, even when I'm not towing. I'm not experienced with the 3.55 so I can't evaluate that. My
only complaint with the 3.70 is that it's definitely noisier than the original. I noticed it as I drove away the first time. I guess I'm use to it
now. Jim did offer to change it, but that's a lot of trouble for both of us and why should that make a difference. I'm guessing it has something to
do with the design/manufacture.

I ordered the 3.70 gear with the limited slip differential today. From everyone's feedback I think this is the right setup for my use. Thanks to
everyone for the information. Jim B. is supposed to be done with the coach around the end of March, so maybe I will see some of you out on the roads
soon.

The final drive is very over looked as to changing the gear lube. Think about the fact that there's no filter there. Using synthetic doesn't make up for that lack of filtration. For your new final drive.. You should change the lube after the first 2000 miles. I change my trans, and final drive at the same time. At about every 15,000 miles. Oils cheep. Parts, and labor aren't.
