Phil I think that if you measure the straight piece from the front to
rear
wheels you will find it is 20" shorter than the 26'
Tom,
I measured the steel brake line as close as I could on the 23
footer and it came out to 136" from the sequencer valve back to the left
"T" fitting. It has several bends along the way as well as connectors,
i.e. it is not one straight, long piece. This should give the guys
making the stuff an idea. I don't know if this is 20" shorter than the
26 footer, not having a longer coach to compare. I also noticed that my
line is only corroded from the valve forward as is actually still shinny
as it moves back from the firewall area and rearward. The stainless is
probably an overkill for those of us in a dry climate like here in So.
Cal. The salt conditions undoubtably require it but I think I am going
to try to get a discount using regular steel lines and only up front. No
need to fix it if it ain't broke. I think the only reason that the front
got corroded is from the fan picking up water and spraying it back to
the firewall. From there back everything is pristine at least as far as
undercarriage is concerned. Thanks for all your efforts. Hope someone
can use the info.
On the puller issue, there was another guy at Las Vegas that was selling
the pullers very resonable but I can't find his card. I know we
discussed him on the list before and it should be in the digest if you
look back. I think there are several pullers out there already in
manufacture and for less than $200 . If I find his card I'll drop you
his phone number. I'm sure it's around here somewhere. Sound familiar?
Good Luck !!
