10-11 mpg is MUCH better than I have been getting with my 23' (455) - I average
about 8, give or take. Lots of mountain driving, though, and shifting into and
out of second gear.

8mpg under those conditions is pretty good. When you start exercising the
accelerator pump and secondaries on the Qjet, "fuel economy" becomes an
oxymoron. ;o)

Hi Keith:

We also have a 23' (455) and on the recent trip, Houston-Orlando, got about 10 mpg. But
the Head Wrench was driving a bit faster than 60, more like 75 (+!). I suspect that had
he stayed in the 50-60 range he would have seen 11+mpg, maybe better.

Shouldn't this be expected since with the Birchaven there is 3' of less weight to move?
