23 footer, cleaning up, and what else I learned from a trip to Alabama

As most know by now, I have passed on Mark's 23 footer. But while it is
not for me in my current state of mind, I can vouch for it to be a great
find for anyone in a market for a 23 foot long GMC.

I learned to suck gas (it doesn't taste bad, and it is no gross feeling)
I learned that cleaning poles is important for good contact
I learned that points stick and it doesn't matter whether it's a buck or
a fiver, they help to clean it up.

And there is a lot of good things to say about southern hospitality.
Thanks Mark for having me in your house, and picking me up and dropping
me off at the airport. Greatly appreciated.

And a note to everyone: Drive your cars. Letting them sit around does
not do them good. And those 5 bucks a month for gas to drive them around
the block is cheap investment into selling it to the next person, or
eventually using in for yourself.

Now waiting for the flight back from Birmingham over Houston, Istanbul
back home.

Thanks everybody for your help with the points. Very much appreciated.

Little context required here. I thought the best place to start extracting the old gas from the tanks would be the tube that goes into the fuel pump.
That would get the main tank mostly empty, and leave about 6 gallons in the aux tank. Peer suggested the Onan feed because it was easier to get to and
mess with, but that would leave several gallons in the main tank too. We decided that was good enough because we were going to saturate the fresh gas
of the refill with SeaFoam. He said he had never siphoned gas before like a hillbilly. I said I had done it before, and sort of explained the general
procedure. Before we finished discussing who and how, I had walked to the carport for some reason, and when I returned, he had gas draining into a
can.

I have done that lots of times when I was younger, with leaded gas (might explain some mental issues) but have never tasted unleaded with ethanol. As
far as taste, all I know is the stuff 40 - 50 years ago was bad.

Peer -

Having recently seen you interest in a 23' - take a look at this:

https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/rvs/6080283861.html

No affiliation at all. Don't know the seller and never saw the coach - but it sure looks good in the listing.

Good Luck - and I'd be more than happy to help if you travel to Southern California.

Steve,

thanks for the pointer. Right now I have to digest the last couple of
days, and check with SWMBO, if we are still on a good direction.

Ok - I can't help then.
BTW - I agree - rear bed is easiest for two people.
