I posted a NAPA #1794 as a suitable replacement oil
filter cartridge which increases the oil volume by one
quart. All this is true and I think desirable BUT NOTE
that an adapter plate will be required to mount this
filter -- it is too long to clear the drive line
without the adapter.

It is a readily available adapter sold by NAPA -- I'll have to do a little research to
find the number. It allows you to put the oil filter anywhere...the "adapter" screws on
to the block in place of the normal filter and flexible lines go to the new base. I
have mine located up front on the side of the radiator mount. It is easy to change and
possibly gets a small amount of extra cooling by virtue of its location in the airflow
- -- and you have the benefit of an extra quart of lubrication..

> Next question, who makes the adapter plate and if you have a part number what is it.
