"Gary this may or may not help.
I have 2 3/4 " brake shoes installed
by previous owner. I recently
purchased lifetime warrenty shoes
from NAPA. My recpt says 1976
Truck-Van G3500-1 ton 292 CI/4.8L
L6............ Napa part # is SS 450.
Be aware there are changes made
to brake hardware to accomodate
wide shoes."

Bill I suspect that since the previous
owner made the change over you
may not know..... however you never
find out unless you ask. Do you
(or someone else on the list) know
what the other changes required were?
Part numbers?

Gary The main change that I noticed on mine as I was trying to
reassemble missing, damaged parts is that the anchor pin on top of
backing plate sits out farther in order to catch center of wider shoe.
I had gotten stock backing plate to replace damaged one but decided it
would be easier to repair old one. I dont know if the backing plates
for the wider shoes are stock for vehicle that uses the wider shoes or
not. The anchor plates on mine have hex heads on both sides of
backing plate and look like they may be removable. Also the brake bar
that lets the parking brake work was remodeled and the brake lever ( # 6
in parts book) was different from stock. I honestly dont know if the
drums were changed or not. My drums have 3" of flat mating surface.
