1977 Kingsley Shore Power Cable

G’day,



The Kingsley has a 30 amp cable hard wired into the coach, however, the Onan receptacle is 50 amps as is the cable from the Onan
itself. I has an Onan Emerald which puts out 6500 watts. It has two roof air units, which I believe are OEM 13,500 BTU (front) and
11,000 BTU (rear).

But can’t figger out why the shore power cord is wired for 50 amps, however the Onan receptacle is wired for 30 amps?

I also own a 75 Avion that I am redoing. My Cable is a 50 amp cable and the plug for the generator is also an 50 amp. I believe that all the Avions were supplied with 50 amp service. I suspect that the PO removed the 50 amp cable because it was a PIYA to shove it into the storage compartment and rewired for a 30 amp cable. The stretch is also a 50 amp inlet , but I use an auto transfer switch to change between the generator ( Generac 6.5) and shore power. I have changed how the 50 amp cable is attached to the coach. I do not at the present time have an external 50 amp outlet plug on the coach. I will be added a plug so I could provide power to the house or another coach.

Give me a couple of hours and I will take and post how I have done the power on the Stretch and will be doing the Avion in the same setup adding a transfer and other necessary items.
