50 miles North of Chicago in Waukegan.
This was my attempt to get rid of the not so attractive 3 shade of BLUE the PO's tried.
In the process of sanding, I found that not only ONE PO painted this color, and I knew
this by finding the first paint job only went up to the crest of the roof, not over the top.
But the second paint job was the same blue color, which DID go over the top of the
GMC roof.

This is a picture history of the transformation. The original pics are huge so I used the ICONS, hope it is
good enough.

THIS IS A RATTLE CAN PAINT JOB DONE WITH RUSTOLEUM PAINTS.
For those who want to know about DURABILITY....
The paint pictures is obviously at the time of the painting.
It has been over 10 years now, other than weathering, the RUSTOLEUM PAINT has held up.
The caulking is showing its weathering and failing.
The only places where the paint is peeling, is where the ORIGINAL PAINT has failed and is peeling
from the body. NO WHERE has the RUSTOLEUM PAINT failed other than my poor preperation.
I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO SUGGEST THIS METHOD OF PAINT. It is a lot of work in prep but
it is relatively inexpensive and looks good. I get compliments all the time.

hi GatsbysCruiser, that looks much better. I like the Glaciers and their original blue too but I also think pure white looks great on these GMCs and its definitely an improvement on that one.

hope youre not limiting your thread to just the paint job, would like to see more of it here at some point too. I also have a '74 Glacier that got put on the back burner when I came across a '76 E2 that had much of the work needed on the '74 done already at a price we could not resist. plan to start a thread on it too someday. do you know the build date on yours?

p.s. I looked at your photos closer and they are actually 640x480 which is rather small so it would not hurt to post them full size IMO

This Glacier was the original SkyBLue color. I can confirm it in the headlight recess and the gas fill compartment. Can't guess why they changed it. Some
peoples children I guess. I picked the brightest Gloss WHite I could find. I knew the coaches came with White also. I have very little of the original interior pieces. The Bath may be original other than the lighting, the original florescents fixtures fell apart. The rear of the coach has the blue vinyl under the big rear window, and a blue white cloth design on the cabinet walls. But that is all that is left. I am working on several projects in her now, after I clean her up I'll try to snap some pics of all the new upgrades.
