1969 toronado

This post isn't directly related to the GMC but I feel some of you
may be able to help me. My aunt is 85 years old, recently had a
stroke, and isn't going to drive any more. She has a'69 Toronado
that she and my uncle bought in 1973 after he became disabled. He
had worked as a mechanic for many years in Nebraska and L.A. and was
able to do maintenance until he passed away. Since his death, she
has been very diligent in having maintenance performed although she
hasn't driven it much except to grocery shop.
Anyway, she would like to sell it but has no idea what price to ask.
She has a prospective buyer but he refuses to make an offer and she
doesn't know what to ask.

I assume some of you may have a good idea of the value of this car
and some may have an interest in buying it. I would appreciate any
comments regarding value or purchase. (The car is located in
Prescott Arizona).

This is my second post; however I am an avid lurker. My main
problem is keeping up with the digests -- I have been as much as a
month behind. I would like to express my thanks to all who have
contributed to this list. I bought a coach in July, not knowing
anything about the GMC. Having gone through all the archives and
reading the digests, I have gained an enormous amount of knowledge.
Now I need to get busy with some real work and get this coach on the
road.

Dave best place to look for going prices is either in Hemmings Motor
News(available at most news stands) or Old cars and parts porice list. Old
cars lists the criteria for grading the condition of the car, and prices for
each.

For you GMC fans the 1969 toronado engine is one of the most desireable
engines for the GMC motorhome. it has a forged crankshaft(very very strong)
and big valve heads cylinder heads (probably E type) and intake has no EGR
valve. Excellent engine and very strong.

I am a new kid on the block. A friend and I are planning to buy a GMC=

some time in the next year or so.

Have been enjoying the message traffic for a while. It looks like half t=

fun is working on the gmcs. An activity that I have always found to be
theripudic (creative spelling!) =

The 1969 Tornado caught my eye. My mother passed away in 1971 and was
driving on at the time. I kept it for several years and enjoyed it's
unique configuration & handling, as well as its powerful acceleration.
It seems a shame to pull the engine for workhorse duty . =
