The thread is not dead yet --just on my back burner. I did
receive a wheel rim from Hayes Lemmer -- - Jim bounds and
i tried it on a GMC at his location -- The results were not
great -although Hayes said that they used the same inner hub as
was used by the 16.5 wheels -- the wheel was only about a 1/16
of an inch away from the brake caliper -- the original 16.5
wheel was about 1/4 away from the caliper. I return that wheel
and went searching again --
Results -- Chrome Wheels 713 644 0497 talked to Burny (the
owner)- He makes a chrome rim for Chevy duallys CW8010LD about
$145 --he says they will work ??
He says he would not use the Hayes wheel because he has found
that they are rarely true -- he gets his steel rims from Centuty
- - there stock# is
U21706480100 -- he says they are very good steel rims - the only
ones he will chrome.
I have not been able to continue the the search -- I need to
call barny and get the Phone # for century steel wheels and
continue my research -- will try to do that next week --will
keep you and the CMCNET posted
