Thanks for the reply Pete. I've got D's on 16.5's now and am in a quandry
since they're fairly new and my coach has lots of other needs for my time
and funds. It's been running this way for 25 years but the way my luck's
been running if I take it out all six of them will blow on the same trip.
OBTW I talked to one of our local salvage yards and was told the 16.5 and
16 rims fit the same hubs. He didn't have any to look at so don't know if
he was correct. He said the price would be $35 for a used rim if he had one.

You sound like me. I've got projects on top of projects. I've presently got
the dash AC coil and heater core out to clean and check them. The AC coil
was pretty dirty but probably not enough to warrant the effort. Last year
the system was running too high head pressure so am checking everything and
will put in new dryer and expansion valve while I'm at it.

I've been studying the system and I think I'm going to end up putting a
divider in the middle of the recirc passage and bring extra air thru the
left half. It looks like I can get good air flow out the low end and still
maintain all the present function. If I get it working I'll make a drawing
of the wooden divider so others can copy it. Cutting sheet metal makes me
nervous so I'm going slow on this one.

Am also looking at GM rear AC systems to see if one can be retrofit easily.
The first several yards I called didn't currently have any in stock. The
last one has a wrecked Suburban but didn't know if it's intact. It was near
quitting time on a holiday so I told him I'd check back with him next week.

We're wanting to go to Yellowstone at the end of June. I've got several
"must do's' lined up for the GMC and at this point am still getting in
deeper. It may not be ready by then so we're considering driving the
Bravada instead. Am thinking 3-4 days in Yellowstone, then the Tetons. The
seven year old wants to see Dinosaur park and then maybe great Salt Lake.
I've not been to this part of the country so am open to suggestions of what
to see where to stay etc. We're then thinking Maine just before school
starts. So could use input on this too.

Enough rambling for now

Enjoy

Re: Etc part of subject (Digest 478)
Dick, I was at Yellowstone several years ago in a pop up. Thought it
was a great trip with a lot to see. During the peak schedule we had to
arrive in the morning as folks were leaving in order to get a place to
camp on a first come first serve basis. Actually, stayed the night
before outside the park and drove in about 9 AM. Great campgrounds but
full to the limit every day. Don't know if it's still the same, but
perhaps someone may have newer info.
