Working on a 1976 Eleganza 26 foot. 6 kw Onan remote panel.
Problem. Remote control panel inside coach start switch did not work. All
other functions did work until owner removed panel and replaced the rocker
switch. He removed all screws from the switch without good pictures or
diagrams. He installed new rocker switch and hooked up everything the way
he thought it should go. Does not look right to me.
There are 4 wires coming from the generator connector. They are
numbered and color coded but the colors do not match the description in the
manual #1 is blue. #2 is brown. #6 is green. #5 is pink.
Does anyone out there have successful experience sorting out the harness
wires and reconnecting them to the switch?
I could do this IF I had disconnected the harness, but I didn't.

Disconnect the wires at the Onan board. Get a long piece of wire as a return path (eliminating coach as ground in first step). Affix tracer wire to
one of the flag terminals. Go back in to remote panel and find and mark using continuity to tracer and unknown wires. Go on to next one. Etc. when
done you can chech each to chassis to be sure no continuity. There may be color changes at the transition in the gen box so this is best way. When
done put ground to switch center, start to bottom and stop to top.

I had some trouble with this too. Re-did the connections at the generator and look at the panel wiring but all looked good. Was about to run a
separate wire from point A to point B but found a intermidiate connection behind the electrical compartment at the charger. Turned out I simehow
disconnected it at that point doing new plumbing in that area. Reconnected it and boom the remote switch started up the generator again. You might
give that a look first.
