Sure enough, Autozone DL7157 from 1979-198? Cadallic
ElDorado (with rear defroster) claims to be 100 Amp.
Just swapped mine out and it seems to fit and work OK.
Housing looks identical to my existing 80 Amp one.
Is it really 100 Amp, don't know. Did not want to
disassemble lifetime waranteed one to check wire size
and parts on the new one, but the Caddy 80 Amp is a
different p/n. Price $74 with trade. NAPA also has
for a little more.

Except ... it has metric bolts (included) for the
bracket attachments. Always a sacrifice somewhere.

Is the pulley size the same as on the GMC? Seems like I heard somewhere
that the GMC is supposed to use a wider alternator belt than the
ElDorado/Toronado. Does anyone know if that is the case?

Dave: I measured the pulley before installing and it
appeared to be exactly the same size.

Fred: The NAPA price I got was $119, a little more but
core was $70 compared to AZ $30.

J.R. Wright: Thanks for the tip on the #8 wire.

Ref metric, I just hate to carry 2 types of tools.
