Hello all,
My coach is a 1978 and that dash air has been freezing up. I have gone through the diagnostics, charge is fine , low pressure switch ok. What I have determined since the compressor is no longer cycling is that the evaporator temp sensor has gone bad. It is also known as the evaporator thermo switch or freeze switch. Different folks have different names. As far as I can tell the original part number was 3028795. I was wondering if anyone had a lead on a compatible part or where I might find NOS please let me know. Thank you Matt

Make sure your condensate drain is not plugged up. I can't help you on the switch, but I'm guessing one of the GMC vendors (Applied GMC, Sirum , Cinnabar, etc) would be able to supply it. For now, just turn your AC to the vent position for a few minutes whenever you feel the temp/volume of cold air decrease.
