cup holder/cell phone holder

I am interested in installing something that will hold at least two drinks and hold cell phones.
A center consul would be ideal, however I haven't decided upon a quick release to allow motor access.
I know some of you have already conquered this. How about helping a brother out?

When I bought my coach it had this nicely painted box custom made by Cinnabar which was about 15" wide 18" deep and 18" high. Contained two cup holders an open area about 1.5" deep on the top and the open area where the 9" tv is. I took the tV out but still use it today for a center console. It freely moves anywhere so you can position it as you wish and is heavy enough not to slide around in transit.

I have a simple van center console, it's not mounted to anything, it just sits there. It does have fabric on the bottom.
It never slides around. Yeah I'm sure in a crash it would, but lets not talk about the overhead cabinets forr of stuff!

Some GMC's came with a small removable table with a bracket on the dash and a leg from the table to the floor. Couldn't find a picture of it but found this picture of a modified one online. I plan on doing something similar but with cutouts for cupholders and a lip around the edge so a cell phone won't slide off.p1013321.webp
 
Maybe this will give you some ideas.The aft two slots were bolt holes that I modified to slots.The forward threaded stud fits into a hole that I drilled into the counsel inside the storage area.The aft end of the counsel is held down by the slots sliding under the heads of the two bolts with spacers and a large diameter washer.After sliding the slotted end under the washers and then dropping the forward end over the forward stud.The large black fluted nut is then screwed down.Easy on and off.The gas struts are a great convenience that also remove easily when needed.

Fifth generation Chrysler minivans have nice center consoles that have a quick-release system built in (the spare tire lies beneath). This includes 2008-2016 Dodge Grand Caravans, Chrysler Town and Country, and even Volkswagen Routan (I had one of those). Someone here on the forums already uses one of these consoles in their coach, but I forget who.

This is a front center console out of a Chrysler minivan circa 2016. I used velcro, which sticks really well to the carpet. I will get around to mounting it "correctly" at some point. It has a base that detaches.

Here is what the original attach-a-table looks like

It slides onto a track in the dash with the glovebox door open
Mine is black on one side and correct golden yellow on the other side
I would like to flip it and mount a cup holder where the old screws were

Its funny, plenty of ash trays but not a single cup holder
When did they invent the BIG-GULP?

NICE! Yes, my 75 still has the metal strip for attaching the table to the dash but I have not been able to locate one of the original one legged tables. If anyone knows of one, please let me know. Thanks, Rod

Rod, if you have decide to abandon the metal strip fitted to attach a one legged table, I would be grateful to have it. LMK

Is it the same profile/molding as the dinette table strip?
 
Has anyone set up a table/cupholders to the left of the driver? That's what I'm looking at. I've already spilled a gallon of coffee on the front carpet and need a solution.
