Hey everyone! Knock on wood, but I'll be joining GMC motorhome ownership very soon (currently looking if you have any additional leads!). I live in northern-ish MN with my wife and kids...have some wanderlust tendencies and need a family truckster. A GMC will fit the bill for us. Looking forward to this journey and happy this forum exists as a great resource!

Done and done. Thanks for the tip! I've been combing a few places online, so we will see what happens.

Looking into 78 Kingsley locally to me and a custom painted 77 Eleganza that is sitting at Sirum's in FL...getting closer and closer to reality. haha

Close enough to metallic pea! LOL
We are having a rally in st. Cloud, mn june 7-9th. Come see different floorplans and talk to some owners.

There are always gmc for sale. But at what buy in price? I know of one super
Nice one for sale in Hudson, wisconsin. But price reflects it’s nice condition.

I am in st. Cloud if your in area.

Hey! Thanks for the info! I'm not far from ya....up in Wadena. I'm going to be out of the area that first week of June, so I'll probably miss the rally in St. Cloud. As far as floorplans, I'm going to need to be able to sleep 5...so probably going to stick with the seemingly standard-ish front bunks/convertible dinette and the rear full bed and wet bath. It wouldn't make sense to have the extra captain's chairs for us and I'm going to stay away from the rear bathrooms (kinda like the idea of having the "master" bed in the back with shades that I can open when private for scenery.

That standard "26-3" floor plan is hard to beat for families! Our Glenbrook was customized when we got it. We used it once, and I started looking for all the standard furniture. I reverted the whole thing back to the old design, and the kids love it. It's so great leaving their bunks up, and not needing to kick them out of bed while we get the dinette set up for breakfast.

Another Rally in july and we are again getting together in September.

Good luck. There seems to be gmcs out there for sale. Just tricky weeding through what is a good buy. I recommend either getting one with aluminum rims or plan on buy 16” aluminum rims right away.

Any help. Looks like I am hour south.

Jon is an excellent resource for you in that area. I recommend you make plans for a visit with him before you commit to anything. He can tell you all the good and the bad, having been through it all (like most of us).

I concur, Jon was front and center when I joined the GMC Family.

Awesome! I sent him a convo message and hopefully we can link up so I can pick his brain....especially on GMC motorhome specific things. I'm pretty familiar with the drivetrain/GM side of things...wrench on my "old" Harley...also mess around with an E46 generation BMW...maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment. LOL

Well, there she is! It's a 77 Eleganza II with the base/standard floorplan...has quite a few nice upgrades with the alcoas, custom paint...reupholstered inside with original looking style corduroy, newer Onan 4k generator, etc. I'm having a few more things done to it before it makes the journey up to MN...then the adventures can begin. Glad to officially be an owner. :)

Great looking coach Bison. I might mention that there's no need to kink the awning like that when all you need is shade. It helps for shedding rain though. I wish my coach looked half that good.
