Good morning!

Paul,

Welcome to the group, family, cult, asylum......

Whether you are a new owner, a wanabe or an owner for a while, it makes little difference here.

This is a community of helping and supportive people the like of which you may not know. To this end, please fill in a sigfile so when you ask questions, we have a solid starting point. To do this, go to the little circle fourth from the right at the top and click. Then you will signature. Fill that in with the your name because we like to know who we are helping, a short about the coach including major mods and finally a geographic reference because you may have so old friends nearby that are near by.

Paul,

You should be aware that 73s are kind of special so be very careful and have the early manual downloaded. There were supposed to be some dealer mods to the front end structure that you should look for and a recall on the rear drums. No telling what POs did along the way.

And I forgot a part of my usual welcome.
As this community is so much like that of the watermen that are my world, I always like to add this to the welcome. It is much like you might be welcomed in that world. So,

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth withing her.

Welcome Paul,

Matt

Thanks Matt ! Fortunately, I have the original complete manual for the Motorhome and I find it very helpful. If I recall correctly, this is number 616 of the first year of production.

Huge learning curve for me. All of the mechanical work and bodywork was redone before I purchased the coach so there may be some modifications that were done that I would not be aware of. The gentleman who owned it had unfortunately passed away and obviously had a love for this machine.
Although nobody can answer specific questions about this coach, he did leave all of the receipts in a plastic bag detailing some of the work he did on it.
These totaled approximately 65k not including the cost of the coach itself. The interior had not yet been touched and was a little rough. I have been redoing the interior and I am near completion. New furnace, new water heater. new waterlines, new cabinets (home built), new led light fixtures and very recently new mono air bags. I am not complaining at all and I am in fact enjoying the challenge as well as the learning curve. This one is a keeper for sure!

Paul,

Well, start you own maintenance and work log now.....

There is a good bet that if you contact a local owner and ask him to go over those receipts (and buy some adult refreshments) he may be able to tell you a lot about what has been done and maybe what has not.

We often say that a reliable a ready to travel coach will cost at least 30K$us, that is all at once or as a kit. You could be there right now. Have you printed a Black (aka GMC Assist) list yet?
