wonder where my NEG went

Wife and I left Lower MO on Easter Sunday for a "pretend we're retired trip to New Orleans and then to Gulf State Park, all in a week. Stayed at
Canton, MS for a quick overnight but now at Pontchartrain Landing in N.O. a place we have stayed at many times. Anyway, on our trip down, our
bathroom, hallway, and overbed lights all went dark. We survived the first night. Yesterday on our arrival at N.O. I wanted to see if I had a hot wire
at the hall light. Using a "for sure" negative at the converter, I confirmed I had a hot wire at the fixture. So I cobbled a small test lead toe
gruond and got all three sets of lights working. I was sure it was a ground thing and now I know. I ran a ground over to the adjacent ceiling AC
receptacle and all is good, but I would like to find where the neg (ground) wire might be attached to ground when I get back so I can properly repair
this. Yes, I should look at the wiring diagram but that is "schematic" and I know someone can rattle this off the top of their head....ad besides I am
pretending to be retired. Thanks in advance.

Larry,

I am afraid that the published schematics will not be a lot of help except to confirm that the bath, hall and a reading light all share a common
ground connection. It gives no hint where that is actually located.

Maybe some one of the people that have completely gutted a coach can tell us where to look. But maybe not too.....

When/if you do locate that ground, please tell us where it is.

I know what I would do. I would find a convenient roof frame and make a new ground to the hall way light. That should pick up everybody else.

If all of those negatives are still hooked together then any one connetion to the aluminum body frame, as Matt suggests, makes sense. If it is just
one ground lead for one light you can also do the same thing. Most accessories inside the coach are just connected to a convenient aluminum piece
somewhere on the body of a GM fitted coach. You night want to stick a star (tooth) washer between the aluminum frame and the ground wire lug. The
aluminum body is the master ground for all 12 DC things in the house portion of the coach. I can not comment on other upfitted coaches.
