The wipers will cycle ramdomly when in the off position.

Mine did it too. It's another one of those problems that's well
documented in the GMC archives. It's called a "ghost swipe". I spent
about 30 minutes adjusting mine to alleviate the problem & now that I've
added a good in-line pwr strng filter, it's worse than ever. A small
wood wedge between the actuating lever and the motor works great til I
can play with it some more. After, who needs wipers in San Diego.
