Hi u all. my 78 has spent alot of time out doors in the north the freeze thaw cycle has allowed debre into the gasket /glass . i plan to dry it out clean the seam. what would be good to put into that to reseal ( the gasket is still flexible) thanks Larry PB 78/455

There's a seal between the fixed window glass and the aluminum frame, the glass is held in place by window 'rubbers'. Is that the seal you mean? And there's another seal between the frame and the body. Both are black butyl tape, the one for the glass is real fussy about the width, you need to find 1/4 wide by 1/16 thick iirc. Maybe 1/4 x 1/8, can't remember. Otherwise replacing the 'rubbers' that hold the glass in place is a pita. Never use silicone. On mine there was nothing keeping the vertical divider in place so I ended up drilling and pop riveting the ends to the frame so it wouldn't allow the glass to move and open up a gap over time.

TM yes the rubber sea..l found a permatex product to re seal.. rubber is good can't see changing it . pop rivet is a good idea.. (silocne sucks i use 3m 5200 ) thanks for your effort Larry PB 78/455

I have no experience with the following product, but it has been recommended numerous times for sealing the glass to rubber area.
