Rick, I did read the blog. The test methods that he uses are consistent
with destructive testing. His results are accurate and repeatable. I find
no issues with any of it.
Well broken in, work hardened flat tappet camshafts and followers,
LIKE WE HAD AS STANDARD EQUIPMENT IN OUR OLDSMOBILE ENGINES, are much lower
pressures than his tests, but, they are cast iron, not hardened steel. If
they had surface hardening, it was not very thick. Aftermarket cams and
that stuff? Who knows.
