Where to have GMC Motorhome collision damage repaired?

I have had several good folks recommend that the wrecked GMC Motorhome be
repaired and several others even suggested sources for the repairs.

I live in Touutman, NC about 35 miles North of Charlotte and about 50 miles
SW of Winston-Salem. Do we have any good repair facilities near our
location?

Also, the 'nose cone' would need to be replaced. Where would we obtain the
parts?

Tom,

I lived in the Charlotte area for over 40 years before relocating to the
Atlanta area last year. I cannot think of anyone in the area that I
would recommend taking a GMC into for body/frame repair. Due to the
magnitude of the damage, I would seriously consider hauling the coach to
a shop that specializes in GMC's. Southland in Buford, GA would
probably be the closest, but I'm not sure if they can handle this scale
of body/frame repair. Call Zeb Frady at 770-271-7502 and see what he
has to say. If you insist on having the work done locally maybe Zeb
knows someone in North Carolina. Again, you might check with Buddy
Bethune in Huntersville, NC (704-896-7137) to see if he can recommend a
local shop. Another possibility would be that Motorhome Enhancements
(704-482-2098) in Shelby, NC, which sells replacement windows for GMC's,
might could recommend someone.

Golby and Cinnabar both should have new body parts. Sirum has a pretty
good supply of "used" parts. Here again, a company that specializes in
GMC repair will know where to locate parts.

Tom the complete nose assembly is available from Golby. 1-800872-1462. They
have the original molds and I saw them during a visit in Orlando in Feb98. I
think that you could replace the nose assy yourself if you can work on cars
and are careful.

A good shop that works on corvettes can probably do the job very well. Just
make sure that they do GOOD work on corvettes.

I would ONLY have a qualified GMC MH shop repair mine.
Sirum has a really good shop, and I have never heard a bad
comment. You might also as Jim Bounds as I know he does
paint.
