Does anyone know a replacement for Dorman 610-110 lug nuts? Or a new number that works? I am not having any luck. Is there a particular vehicle year
and model to look up?
Thanks

The stud is the same thread, just longer.

Stu,
You are looking for a “Wheel Nut 9/16-18, Flanged Flat Face, 7/8 inch Hex, 5/8 Inch Length. I have a Dorman number of 611-054. Anyone have a comments on the Dorman number.

You need a longer stud for what reason? We go thru this issue once every 4 or 5 years and as long as 80% of the stud thread is covered by the nut you have no loss in strength in holding the wheel to the axle. Longer studs don’t make it any stronger, just has unused threads beyond the nut.

This was written about last time in June of 2016 and was message #302595 and I will quote it here to save time.

"This topic of the studs not being long enough when using Alcoa wheel has been on going since the Alcoa wheels have been used on our coach. The comment that the stud threads must be beyond the face of the Alcoa swivel lugs nuts is incorrect and does NOT make the wheel fasteners any stronger. It has been published several time in various GMC publications and here on the GMCnet since 1994. The most current was in the GMCMI Newsletter #84 on page 2 under the topic “Alcoa Wheels” Col. 2.

Quote
“The original stud and Alcoa wheel combination allows for .532 inches of thread, which is more that the pitch diameter of the stud. A longer stud does not provide more strength, it has more threads exposed.” Unquote

Most tire dealerships do not have a clue on stud strength VS stud strength. Emery is Correct when he talks stud length! I doubt that the tire dealer has any technical data to back up his claim.”

Sorry,
One more clarification is that when you are using an aluminum wheel you must use a alcoa style swivel lug nut. You can get those from Jim K

https://www.gmcrvparts.com/product-p/g139987.htm

They are not expensive per nut, but you must use this style when using the aluminum wheels.

The other number that I posted earlier would be acceptable for steel wheels either the stock or aftermarket steel wheels.

Gents not the stud, I am looking for the 16 nuts that attach the wheel extension adapter to the brake Rotor. The nut is conical and sets inside the
aluminum spacer. I have the nuts for the Alcoa wheels. The nut I am looking for attaches the aluminum adapter.
Thanks
