Hello everyone. I've been on the site on and off for a year now and finally joined. I'm trying to figure out what it was born as. It's a 1974, white
over gray exterior. VIN indicates a GMC interior. Can't find a 3-digit code on the RPO sticker (I understand there may not have been a code in '74). I
would include a few photos of it on the gmcphotos.com site, but the "My Albums" link seems to be non-existent. The instructions say to log in, choose
"My Albums", "Create a New Album"... etc., but there is no "My Albums" link on the site after logging in. I would share the photos on another site but
I've seen so far that the sentiment towards other photo-sharing websites on this forum is not favorable. Any help with either of these questions
would be appreciated!

PS - I'm sure I'm going to get yelled at for something. Let's hear it!

Thanks,
Corey

Why are you expecting an adverse reaction? Most of us don't have hidden
agendas, we really do like to help as much as possible considering that we
are all at a great distance from you. If we can help, our advice comes at
no cost. The more information that you give us, the easier it is to provide
accurate help. S'all I got for now.

Jim - I would hope that distance wouldn't matter. Here in Ohio, our license plates used to say "The Heart of it All". Granted, we like to destroy old
vehicles with road salt, but that's beside the point.

If possible, I would like help on being able to share photos. Is there a trick to the gmcphotos.com site that I'm missing? There doesn't seem to be a
"My Albums" link as the instructions indicate. This may be the best way to get you guys the pertinent info to help me figure out what to call this
fine machine in our driveway. And to be able to "pay it forward" at some point once I am able to be a productive member of this community.

Hi Corey, how about joining the new GMCMHforum.com, posting your question/photo there (easy), then adding a link to that thread here? The old and new
forums peacefully coexist ;)

Sir, go to photo site, create an account, get approved, log in and create an album. Copy and paste the address of the album and post here.

Posting the photos outside of the gmcmhphotos.com site is nearly the
same as posting it on imgurl. Too many sites have come and went away.
gmcmhphotos.com always stays.

Instead of luring people to post outside, it makes more sense to help
them use the proper place. And maybe even invest some time to make the
proper places easier to use.

This is the problem, I've tried to post to the photos website... I created an account, logged in, and am trying to follow the instructions in the help
section for posting photos, which say to first use the "My Albums" link to create an album. Unfortunately there is no "My Albums" link to be found.

By process of elimination if it is truly a 73-74 GMC upfit it would be a Canyonlands, Glacier, Painted Desert, Sequoia or Eleganza SE. Other model
names came later. Look in door jam and utility doors for signs of original paint to further narrow the possibilities. Hope this helps.

I think maybe you need to be approved by the admin first, in order to get the full header which includes a "My Albums" category.

It worked for me, but only after I logged in.

You've got a 1974 Glacier. Built on the November 27, 1973. It has spent
most of it's life in Southern Ohio and Bowling Green, Kentucky areas.

Please update the pedigree for this GMC at www.gmcmhregistry.com

PS: The "My Albums" link is 5th from the left in the blue upper menu line
after you are logged in.

Corey,

Welcome to the group, family, cult, asylum.....
I am very glad that you found your way here. Before very long and as you are working the forum, please fill in a sigfile. To do this, go to and the and find the box to put in: Your name so we know who we are helping, a short about the coach including
major mods that might matter and a geographic reference. That last is needed because about half this group reads this as email and can't see the
"Hilliard OH" in the header.

What is your coach? Maybe nobody knows. The model designations were really nothing more than interior and exterior color schemes. The model names
were just four obscure (in those days) national parks. The floor plans in those years even had little variation and there is no bet it has not been
changed. I am betting it is a 26ft and that is what 89% of the build was. That and '74 is most of what really matters. There were changes during
the production and some do matter a lot.

Speaking of changes, if it still has the points in the distributor, buy a Pertonix 1181LS to replace them. This will make that a non-issue for the
future.

Unfortunately, you missed the international that was in Mansfield last fall, this next year are not conveniently close by. The Great Lakers chapter
has a rally every month in the season. July and August are not arranged yet, so stay tuned. You need to get to one to meet other owners and see what
they have done.

Now, the sigfile may get you another surprise. There are a good number of owners in the mid-Ohio region. And this is a supportive and helping group
like very few others. There is a very good chance that you have a brand new old friend in striking distance already. Please be aware that we all
have a not so secret agenda. That agenda is to see to it that you get to enjoy both the coach and what it can do for you as much was we all know it
can. Because this is so much like the way of the watermen of my world, I have taken to welcoming new owners much as you might be welcomed there. So,

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

Welcome Corey

Matt

LOL so much for peaceful coexistence ;). We are in fact investing to make things easier to use, and bdub is happily participating. Who knows how
things will evolve vis a vis the photo site (which I support financially) and the new forum? I still think of the new forum as being in a 'beta'
state, but for purposes of this great new owner's question the lifetime of the photos doesn't matter much. As to 'luring' and the 'proper' way to do
things, that's just silly. The community will be the judge of that.

There does not appear to be a My Albums link - unless I am COMPLETELY
missing something!

VERY likely. I signed up for several GMC related websites on the same day and it is possible I missed it in my inbox. Sure enough, now I can see the
My Albums link. You're the man!
