I wanted to take a moment to welcome everyone that's subscribed to the
GMC Motorhome Mail List so far. It may take a while for the list volume
to build as more people subscribe, so, if you're like me and tend to be
impatient, please just hang in there a little while. I've taken a
low-key approach to publicizing the list for now in an effort to ensure
that subscribers have a genuine interest in GMC's.
In the meantime, if you have a question concerning GMC's, don't be
bashful. On some mail lists, a short introduction is customary, so I'll
start it off:
I'm employed as an "Underwriting Support Administrator" for a property
insurance company based in their Atlanta regional office. My position
is the liason between Information Systems and Underwriting Systems for
the southern region.
My wife, Sharon, and I have two young daughters and we own a '73 Canyon
Lands which I have dubbed the "White Elephant". I bestowed this title
on it in a fit of frustration(funny, I can't even remember what the
project du jour was). I always thought that "white elephant" was a term
used for somebody else's junk, but Sharon assured me that the true
meaning is a "priceless treasure"(now you know why I love her
)
We relocated to the Atlanta area in January(transferred from Charlotte)
so much of the past nine months has been taken up with getting settled
in to the new house. The White Elephant has been sitting patiently at
my father's house, keeping his 75 Eleganza company. I just finished the
second driveway and parking pad, so hopefully I will be able to bring
the GMC down here in the next couple of weeks. I was in the middle of
some interior remodeling/upgrading when I got the relo news, and I'd
like to get that done in time to make the Sun n Fun Fly-in this April
down in Lakeland Florida. Oh, I guess I should mention that my other
passion is aviation. I'm a licensed pilot and an airplane nut, but
that's a subject for another mail list.
