Water heaters? Suburban, Atwood, American Standard, Pot on the Stove

Ron,
If your tank is not leaking then a replacement element is under $20 to
make it hot again. If the tank is leaking then Jim DeMaere
@403-329-3091 makes a stainless steel replacement tank that fits the
original space. As for replacing the stock unit with an Atwood or
Suburban gas unit there is not enough depth to for these units to fit.
There is aproximately 16 inches of depth available, maybe less because
of the curvature of the side of the coach for installation. The
Suburban 6 gal requires 19 3/16" depth and the Atwood is similar in
measurement. To install the gas type water requires a major
modification and relocation to get it in. Some GMC'ers have done it,
but your talking alot of dollars here. I just hitched up the engine
heating circuit that the PO had removed the hoses to the engine.
Provides all the hot water you need without AC power.
