Where were all the GMCs ?

During our recent coast-to-coast-coast "REAL" test, we were amazed at how
few GMCs we saw. It was't until we had started home from my cousin's in New
Hampshire that we saw our 1st GMC in about 3,200 miles. It was a red-ish 26
footer heading east on hiway 101 about 10 miles east of Keene, NH on
Friday, 10/2 at about 11:30 a.m. Then on Wednesday the 14th, we spotted a
2nd coach. This one was sort of cream collored and was headed east on I80
just east of Green River, Wyoming at 2:00 p.m. The only other one we
"almost" saw pulled up right behind us in a rest area, spent the night, and
left early, before we could hop out to say hello. It was the westbound rest
area on I80 at mile marker 170 in Utah.

We were surprised to have not seen more or our fellow GMC "addicts" as we
cruised the good ol' USA.

Were any of you GMCnetters?
How come no CBs on?

On another subject, I noticed a recent post suggesting that Grandview in
Marysville, Ohio could provide OEM stripes. When I contacted them 6 or 8
months ago, I was told they only sold the decals (Eleganza, Royale, etc.).
Since I haven't yet put accents on our new one-collor paint job, I figured
I'd better give them another call. Well, I did, and as some of you may have
discovered, Grandview does NOT sell the stripes, just decals (but the gal
on the phone is really friendly and well informed).

I can add my .02c as I called for some stripes... Yup the gal was very nice,
but no stripes, just decals. She suggested I get someone to paint the
portions that have come off. It seems the material they put on was very
strong and wont come off very easily, so you don't have many choices. I will
look to someone to paint my stripes.
