Yeah like $200 for 1 red NOS AMX side marker. Front 1970 AMX amber markers are so rare you just don’t find them NOS or used for that matter. There is a guy in LA that used to have oodles of front/rear side markers that he hoarded over the years but has since dwindled down to a few sets. He only sells sets to restorers of 1970 AMX folks for a huge markup. If who can find them and willing to pay the price, 1970 AMC Javelin AMX are suppose to be the same. They were a one year only item.
The Amber side markers are 2 piece and difficult keeping assembled. I considered gluing them but the fit isn’t the worlds greatest. These are the same I have now on my motorhome but not impressed with the longevity - faded and cracked in 2 years.
Wow $150 to $300 on ebay. Maybe the AMC guys need to be looking at Applied’s lights.Yeah like $200 for 1 red NOS AMX side marker. I found a nice set of used 1970 AMX rear side markers that I plan on using to replace my current China markers that have faded/cracked in just 2 years. Plus, I believe the original mounts for the screws were rivet nuts in the SMC that are broken off. It also looks like some sort of plate was sandwiched between the side marker and the body but I cannot figure out the body assembly manual image I downloaded - crappy image quality.
That website forces the entry of a vehicle in a pop up. Can you identify the source vehicle?I used these. They just need a little modification. https://www.lmctruck.com/1973-79-ford/sidemarker/fc-1973-79-front-sidemarker-lamp
Sounds sleek. Could you share some pictures? It was huge work to eliminate the entire side bumper strip as the aluminum top meets the lower FG there but I did and almost 2 years later, there are no cracks. Anyway, in cleaning up the sides, I used the small and bright almost flush round LED lights there. I think they give it a much more modern appearance.
I have an album somewhere on this site that shows the side markers and running lights. I tried to smooth out the whole body but the mirrors are a big aero drag. Working on that but don't want to spend crazy money for nice mirrors. Things like this usually come to me if I keep looking.Sounds sleek. Could you share some pictures?
